Translation Settings
Translation is configured per-game in Game Settings > Translation. Settings shared by all games — the DeepL API key and the translation cache — also live in the global Settings > Translation section.
Global Settings

Section titled “DeepL API Key”Your DeepL API key (Free or Pro) is stored securely in the iOS Keychain and shared by all games. The validate button confirms the key and shows your character usage for the current billing period. The key can also be entered from Game Settings > Translation and from the in-game overlay’s Translation window.
Translation Cache
Section titled “Translation Cache”View cache statistics and clear cached translations for all games.

Turns on real-time dialogue translation for the selected game.
Translation Service

Choose between three services:
- Apple — on-device translation, works offline once language packs are installed. Requires iOS 18 or later.
- DeepL — high-quality translation using your own DeepL API key. Spark sends surrounding dialogue as context to improve results.
- Google — no account needed. Game text is sent to Google for translation.
Target Language
Section titled “Target Language”The language to translate into. The available list depends on the selected service. Set to “None” to disable, or leave as “Device Language” to use your iOS system language.
Source Language
Section titled “Source Language”The original language of the game’s text (default: English).
Advanced Settings

Clear Translation Cache
Section titled “Clear Translation Cache”Clears cached translations. Use if translations seem incorrect or outdated.
Language Pack Status (Apple)
Section titled “Language Pack Status (Apple)”The status indicator shows:
- Green checkmark (Installed) — Ready to use
- Blue arrow (Supported) — Download required
- Red X (Unsupported) — This language pair is not available
- Gray question mark (Checking) — Checking status…
Apple Translation is fully on-device and works offline once language packs are installed.
DeepL Usage
Section titled “DeepL Usage”When DeepL is selected, your character usage (used / monthly limit) is shown under the service picker in the in-game Translation window and next to the API key field. If the monthly quota is exhausted, translation pauses until the quota resets or the plan is upgraded.
