Gallery

The Gallery lets you browse images and videos from your Ren’Py games, including assets stored inside RPA archives. Access it from the Game Detail page via the menu.

  • PNG, JPG, JPEG, WebP, BMP, GIF
  • MP4, M4V, MOV
  • WebM, AVI, MKV, OGV — These formats are displayed with a thumbnail preview but playback is not supported. They can still be exported.

The Gallery can read and extract media directly from RPA archives (.rpa files) without needing to unpack them first. It merges loose files in the game directory with contents from all RPA archives into a unified view.

Supported RPA versions: RPA-1.0, RPA-2.0, RPA-3.0, RPA-3.2, RPA-4.0, and ALT-1.0.

The Gallery displays media in a grid layout organized by the game’s folder structure. You can navigate into subdirectories by tapping folder icons and swipe back to return to the parent directory.

The number of columns is configurable:

  • iPhone default: 3 columns
  • iPad default: 4 columns

Adjust in Settings > Media Browser Columns (range: 1–8).

Use the refresh button in the menu to rescan the game directory. This is useful if you’ve added or modified assets after opening the Gallery.

Tap any asset to open it in a full-screen detail view:

  • Swipe horizontally to navigate between assets
  • Double-tap to zoom in and out
  • Pinch to zoom
  • Single-tap to toggle immersive mode (hides navigation bars)
  • Thumbnail strip at the bottom for quick navigation between assets

For supported video formats, a play button overlay appears. Tap to start playback with full player controls.

Tap the share button in the detail view to export an asset. This opens the iOS share sheet, allowing you to save to Photos, AirDrop, send via Messages, or use any other sharing option. Assets from RPA archives are extracted to a temporary file for sharing and cleaned up automatically afterward.
